Catherine Wanjohi – Advocate for Sex Workers

“My counseling skills have helped me quite a lot… sitting with these women was in its own way quite, quite draining, it still is today … One thing is that I am part of a community that has judged them for too long. ”

Catherine is an advocate for sex workers across Kenya. She left her prestigious role as a headmistress of a girls school when she realized that single mothers were paying for school fees through their work in prostitution. Founding Life Bloom Services International first in Naivasha, and now Nairobi, Catherine aims to offer alternatives for women who once worked on the streets.

I sometimes sit to think of the great reward that the Lord Has kept for you for changing lives and how God smiles at every bit of your activity in this and i really feel that i should always allow God to use me on the line that He chooses to make Him happy too.God bless you mightily.

Great work by Catherine. Using her skills, she has ably changed the lives of many women and families at large. She is passionate about her work. I have witnessed that the Peer Mentor Model has worked very well for the women and they have reawakened the giants in themselves, as Catherine puts it. Keep up.

  3. I could only imagine how “draining” your line of work must be. You are changing so many women and families’ lives for the better and your good work is seen, appreciated, and inspiring all over the world. Thank you!
